Call to Order:
President Aaron Smith called the meeting to order at 11:00 a.m.
Board Members Present:
President – Aaron Smith, First Vice President – Brian Cato, Second Vice President – Seth Wollard, Secretary – Blake Eastwood, Treasurer – Matt Clemens, Sargent-at-arms – Ron White, Chairman – Traey Lambertz, Board Member – Charles Misenheimer, Board Member – Kevin Scheer.
Board Members Absent: None
Old Business:
Aaron Smith gave an overview of the minutes from April’s business meeting. Ron White motioned to table the review and approval of the Board meeting minutes until our next Board meeting. Traey Lambertz seconded the motion adding that the business meeting minutes must be reviewed and approved by the MACA membership, during the spring conference / business meeting. All ayes, motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report:
Matt Clemens presented the Treasurer’s report, stating that, “as of December 29, 2014, MACA’s total balance of all funds is $56,256.81. Traey Lambertz made the motion to accept the treasurer’s report. Seconded by Ron White; all ayes; motion carried.
2014 Fall Meeting:
Traey Lambertz voiced his approval in regards to the meeting and thought that the training provided was appropriate and relevant. Kevin Scheer voiced his approval for the 50/50 drawing. Traey Lambertz suggested offering the 50/50 drawing during the 2015 spring educational seminar. Consent was received from the Board to continue the 50/50 drawing.
New Business:
Traey Lambertz will continue to be a representative for MABFO (Missouri Association of Building and Fire Officials).
Kevin Scheer discussed a need for presenters for the Mega Conference (July 27th – 29th). Traey Lambertz introduced a new ICC requirement that trainers be listed as an ICC “preferred provider,” when offering continuing education units (CEUs) for ICC. The new registration requirement will cost MACA an additional $200 per year, and will cost each vendor who wishes to provide training an additional $200 to have their course certified through ICC. Ron White motioned to direct MACA Treasurer, Matt Clemens to proceed with payment of the $200 fee to ICC. Traey Lambertz seconded the motion. All ayes; motion carried.
Ron White motioned for MACA to pay for airfare and expenses for MACA President, or the President’s designee to attend the ICC Annual conference. Ron White motioned to continue discussion on this issue (through email) to allow for a detailed estimate of associated trip expenditures to be collected and reported to Board Members by Friday, January 16, 2015.
Kevin Scheer discussed a need for presenters for the 2015 spring MACA educational seminar (Apr. 15th-17th), and confirmed with Aaron Smith that rooms for those presenting at the seminar will be paid for by MACA. Kevin Scheer will contact presenters involved with training related to electrical services and inform board members when a presenter is scheduled.
Ron White Motioned to adjourn the meeting. Motion was seconded by Traey Lambertz. All ayes; motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 11:55am.
